The sisterhood follows our 8 principles on a daily basis- Sisterhood, Character, Leadership, Scholarship, Service, Womanhood, Culture, Self. We host various programs for our university and community that highlight and strengthen our knowledge of each principle.

Through the years, Kappa Phi Gamma Sorority’s primary aim has been a commitment to excellence. This goal has fostered a constant purpose to cultivate and uphold superior scholastic and ethical standards; to encourage unity, friendship and allegiance among collegiate women of diverse backgrounds; to improve and disseminate knowledge about our culture and race; and to empower individuals toward the highest possible aspirations.

This purpose is achieved through diverse programs in which each Chapter and Colony is engaged at the local and/or national level. The programs are generally selected in accordance with the following areas: professional development, philanthropic aid, Greek solidarity, education, health, the arts and cultural awareness.

The Interested Ladies of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. at Virginia Commonwealth University

One of the primary concerns of Lambda Theta Alpha has been and continues to be the growth and diversity of its sisterhood. For this reason, the "Interested Ladies of Lambda Theta Alpha" was established as an interest group. The Ladies of Lambda Theta Alpha take great pride in the interest group and devote much time to its success and orientation.

As the first Latin sorority ever created to cater towards the needs of Latinas in the nation, Lambda Theta Alpha recognizes the importance of reaching out to others and forming a united coalition of professional, diverse, culturally and politically aware women. We are not an exclusive group of women and believe that all women alike should be given an opportunity to make their mark on the world. This is our right and our profound legacy.

The main goals of the interest group are to establish working and social relationships with the sisters and with the other interested ladies. In this way, fundraising, community service and activism, as well as social efforts, can be a success. By their collaborative efforts, past interest groups have attained high levels of success and have gained essential insight as to what Lambda Theta Alpha is — an organization...a Sisterhood...based on Unity, Love and Respect...and dedicated to the empowerment of minorities and the universal woman through her education, a love of culture, the disenfranchised and her surrounding communities.

    Sigma Beta Rho Fraternity, Inc.

Founded in 1996, Sigma Beta Rho Fraternity, Incorporated has grown to become a National fraternity with chapters stretching coast to coast. The chapters are spread out in 16 different states, but are strongly bound together by the guidance of our National Council. Our alumni are deeply involved in the growth and development of Sigma Beta Rho as an organization. We strive to become a highly rewarding and widely recognized networking channel for our young professionals and graduates. Our alumni, who are involved in diverse career paths, contribute generously to this goal.

Even though Sigma Beta Rho continues to grow in a fast and impressive manner, we maintain high standards in expansion and recruitment. We require the groups and individuals who wish to join our Brotherhood to commit to our values – Society Brotherhood and Remembrance.

    Three basic commitments are required:

    • Commitment to serve their community and University as a delegate of Sigma Beta Rho.
    • Commitment to make this Brotherhood stronger than any other through sacrifice, otherwise known as Qurbani.
    • Commitment to bring down cultural and ethnic barriers among Brothers by cultivating cultural awareness among each other.

Besides these basic commitments, the candidates must demonstrate that they excel in academics and other extra curricular activities. They must be an asset to society, as well as to the Fraternity. In doing so, they will better themselves.
